Snowman Cakes

Dec 23, 2009

I love the holiday season and I especially enjoy snowmen.  My entire house is decorated with all things winter around the holidays… snowmen, snowflakes, snowballs, icicles, etc.  So when I have an opportunity to create holiday desserts for personal events, I of course make something wintry.  This year I had two occasions to be creative.  The first was for a holiday party my husband and I throw for our friends every year.  I made a two tier snowman to match the blue and purple decor of our Christmas tree.  It was a chocolate fudge cake with cookies and cream mousse.

The second occasion was for an industry happy hour at Baur’s Ristorante in Denver.  I made snowman cake balls on a stick.  The were filled with chocolate cake and cream cheese filling and then dunked in white chocolate.  They even had Rolo’s for top hats and candy coated sesame seed noses that looked just like carrots.  Tasty and cute!
