Meet Avalon
Avalon Yarnes is our newest addition to the decorating staff. She is a Denver, Colorado native. At the age of fifteen she found herself at a summer job behind the counter of a gourmet bakery handing out éclairs, cannolis and an array of other tasty pastries and cakes. She soon worked her way through the ranks working as a baker, cake decorator,and finally to lead production/assistant manager. Although Avalon had a love for all things sweet, she didn’t discover her passion for cake design until she began making novelty cakes for friends and family four years ago. When she realized that delicious cake could also be a piece of art, she knew what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Avalon came across Rachael and Intricate Icings Cake Design while in pursuit to find a place that she could do what she loves on a daily basis. We are excited to have her as a part of our team!
Sarah and Chris: Stunning wedding!
We had the pleasure of being a part of one of the most fantastic weddings I have seen in a very long time. A huge thank you to Paige Elizabeth for these fantastic photos! Sarah and Chris, thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day.
This five tier cake was enrobed in white chocolate fondant and adorned with black satin ribbon and rhinestone broaches. The second tier was accented with black sugar lace and a monogram. Flavors included: Vanilla bean cake with chocolate espresso mousse, Orange rum cake with mandarin orange cream, and Red velvet with cream cheese filling.

Going bananas
I adore this cake. It’s such a fun 1st birthday cake. We made the bananas out of dairy free chocolate cake for the little birthday boy to smash into.
Scrolls and dots
This cake has a combination of designs scrolls through the center tier and random dots on the top and bottom tiers. It sits on a vintage silver plateau adding both height and style and is topped with a three letter monogram.
Dress Details
This cake was inspired by the brides gown. Hand made sugar appliqués and crystal sugar beads mimic the gowns stunning embroidery design.
