Lionsgate Bridal Show
The beautiful Lionsgate Event Center in Lafayette is hosting a free bridal show on Sunday April 10th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This show should be a “can’t miss” event for all future couples planning their wedding, as it features over 60 of the areas top vendors. Rachael will be there with a stunning array of cakes and dessert bar options as well as sampling some cake and cake pops! We hope to see you there!
Winter Wonderland Of Cake
A traditional wedding cake conjures images of multiple layers or grand tiers, intricate decorations in buttercream or fondant, beautiful flower arrangements and elegance. Lately, we have seen more couples veering towards less traditional set-ups, including mini cakes, cupcake tiers, dessert bars and multiple, smaller tiered cakes. Instead of having just one stacked cake, have several round cakes on variable height cake stands. The subtle white- on-white decor and shimmer created a modern look while keeping the tone subdued. This idea was perfect for a winter wedding, filled up their cake table beautifully and created a unique visual compared to a single, stacked cake.
Angry Birds Cake
It’s the game everyone seems to be addicted to, so we knew it was only a matter of time before the request came in to see how we could transform it into edible art. The birds and evil green pigs were the perfect characters to be made into cake pops and chocolate covered wafer cookies provided the ideal look of the “structures” you must destroy in the game. The only thing missing was the entertaining sound effects you hear when playing, but this cake was so much fun to complete. We believe we captured the comical style of the game perfectly, what do you think?

Mad Hatter Orchids
The whimisical Mad Hatter configuration added a bit of playfulness in this beautiful wedding cake. Covered in a soft pink fondant and lined with fuschia ribbon, the highlight of this design is the gorgeous green sugar orchids that casade down the side. Elegant and modern, with a hint of flare – this cake was the perfect centerpiece for a charming reception at Della Terra
