There's something fabulous about how modern and rustic elements come together so perfectly. When you think about each of these styles individually they have very different attributes, almost opposites of each other. Modern decor features clean lines, bold colors, and geometric patterns while rustic decor lends itself to a less structured style full of texture.
Bringing a natural feel to a modern art museum is no easy task, but Amber of Save the Date Events brought this couple’s vision to life in an amazing way. I created a rustic mountain scene cake with sugar bark and a set of hikers with their dog. The addition of a few flowers with a pop of color and some gold accents changed the tone almost instantly to have a more modern feel. But what really made this cake was the gorgeous geometric background created by Design Works adorned with candles and floral arrangements by Plum Sage. All of these pieces together create one stunning centerpiece for the guests to view throughout the evening.
As a business owner, I love hearing from my clients, especially the mother of the bride! Just like I want my own mom’s approval, having the mother of the bride's approval is just as important. I was so touched by her email, I wanted to share Robin's kind words and adorable granddaughter with all of you too.
“I’ve been wanting to let you know that the cake you did for Leah and Dan’s wedding at the end of August was spectacular – and delicious. I also thought you would enjoy seeing the pictures I’ve attached of my granddaughter’s reaction to the design when she discovered the hikers and the dog, as well as the mountains.”
How cute is Caroline sharing her excitement with her mother, Jeanne in these photos provided by a friend?!?!?!
