Wedding Wednesday: Mid-Century Modern

Style shoots are a great way for vendors to colaborate and really let their artistic juices flow with no limitations. I was honored to be a part of Save the Date Events and Wedding Paper Diva's Mid Century Modern shoot. The style of the invitation piece used comes out everywhere in this shoot. The cake, floral backdrop, table setting, rug, and even the wedding dress were all inspired from this one invitation.

My inspiration for this fondant cake was the gorgeous white, green and metallic stationery provided by Wedding Paper Divas, the foil-stamped Everlasting Gem invitation. I love modern geometric patterns and thought this linear design would work wonderfully on a cake.

I chose to add a single sugar fern as a nod to the lush greenery used throughout the shoot by Plum Sage Floral. I also wanted to provide an interactive experience for the guests, so I created an edible wall of petite fours allowing the dessert to truly become the decor, while letting the guests serve themselves from a slightly more unique setting.
