Fun Friday: Cheeseburger in Paradise
Every so often I am tasked with creating an over the top cake and I love the challenge!!! One of my lovely brides wanted to surprise her husband to be with a Jimmy Buffet Cake. She provided me with a few of his favorite Buffet songs and my mind went spinning with different ideas. I put together a few rough sketches as a general concept and tweaked a few details along the way.
I was itching with excitement for months before actually being able to put this cake together, but I was pleased with how all the sugary details came together. The giant cheeseburger, airbrushed surfboard, and parrot set the scene for one heck of a "Parrothead" Extravaganza, but the other small details helped tell the story. A saxophone, a pair of sandals that looks like you could just slip them on, a mustache wearing crab, a corkscrew, a pocket watch set to 5 O'clock, and an anchor all played their role is highlighting several of the groom's favorite songs.
I was able to capture a few shots myself during set up, but here's the cake a little later in the evening, rolled out as a surprise for the groom!
The sparklers shootingout of the saxaphone was such an exciting touch!!!!
Thank you for allowing me to share my talent with you on your special day! Congratulations Allison and Thomas!
