Wedding Wednesday: Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. While the something blue is usually the garter, who says your something blue can't be the cake? Adding color to your wedding cake makes a bold statement. This glacier blue winter wedding cake was inspired by the Theia bridal gown named Erdene. A sheer overlay embroidered with blue and silver floral appliqués creates one of the most beautiful winter gowns I've laid eyes on.

The cake mimics the floral pattern from the gown and was created with edible silver leaf over an embossed modeling chocolate. The sugar flowers are a twist on the wintery bridal bouquet.
